Situation
Our client is one of the most prestigious global strategy firms, with offices in every major geographical region and a track record of helping the world’s largest companies overcome critical business issues.

The senior leadership team of our client had pinpointed two areas for consulting growth within their client base. This included organisational change and environmental & carbon trading. It was recognised by our client there were skills gaps within these areas in their own consulting capability, which resulted in an agreement to run two mandated search assignments, to resolve the skills gap.

The Project
Our remit was to run two separate search assignments to find Principals to lead the Environmental & Carbon Trading Consulting offering, as well as a Principal to strengthen the organisational change practice which was growing rapidly.

The search to find the Principal roles included targeting competing consulting firms as well as niche environmental consulting organisations. We also targeted a small number of end-user corporations who had in-house expertise in this area.

The search to recruit the Principal for the organisational change team focused completely on targeting competing strategy firms as well as all of the main management consultancies.

The Results
We mapped a large percentage of talent in both areas and presented a high quality short-lists. The lead candidate for the Principal role worked for another strategy firm and was considered a leading expert in environmental and carbon trading consulting.

The Principal for the organisation change practice worked for another management consulting firm but wanted move into strategy consulting for her own career development.
